Roll the World
A downloadable game for Windows
INCOMPLETE
Synopsis
Welcome to Roll the World! A difficult arena brawler exploration where you have a built-in escape, switching worlds! But you never know which world you'll end up in, and whether it'll be in your favor... or against you.
Roll the World was developed in two days for the GMTK Game Jam 2022 for the theme "Roll of the Dice." The Roll of the dice comes in when the player decides to continue exploring the map to find the keys or switch maps to reset the enemies.
Instructions
- Mouse to look around, and click to attack.
- WASD or Arrow Keys to move.
- Hold space to roll the world!
Things to Enjoy!
- Beautiful Music - Try to listen to a full song! It's surprisingly hard to not die.
- Beautiful Art - Find all six beautiful worlds!
- Holding Spacebar to "roll the dice" and jump worlds! Very cathartic!
Things to Add:
- Full Map
- Proper Animation
- Key hunting and Victory State
Things of Note
- The file is a zip file that you do have to extract, and then run Roll the world executable.
- There are no restarts! We weren't able to code a restart function and the game effectively crashes when you die. You will have to close the game manually and reopen it. This will be fixed once uploads are re-enabled.
- If you go all the way to the left you can see the edge of the full map that is almost ready.
- Every enemy has several unique lines. Tell us your faves!
- There are six worlds to roll to in total, one for each side of a dice
- There is so much art we didn't have time to animate in! We are very excited to add it.
- The song in each world is unique but carries the same melody. The bass drops at the end of the songs are the best part, but you do have to be in a world for a long time and fight a ton of enemies to get there.
